contract saids, have to put one day notice during the first month's employment, so if I work on 17/7 and told them to terminate the job at the end of the day, is it possible or just don't show up to work on the frist day ?

The reason I want to quit is i found another temp job (paid much better) and will start on the same day (7/17), kindly give me a solution where i could satisfy both parties ? Thanks a lot.

Does anyone have any suggestions on career choices? I'm 24. I've working in Customer Service and Finance since I graduated from college, but really don't enjoy what I do every day. Something I enjoy is working with people and had thought about being a teacher, psychiatrist, and a bunch of other things. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I put in my two weeks notice at work and HR says that I have to do an Exit Interview with them before I leave. What's the purpose of this and if I say anything bad about my manager, will HR tell my manager? If I say anything bad will it effect any recommendations / referrals for a new job? My manager was awful and caused a lot of problems for me, that’s why I’m leaving. However, I want to make sure I don’t burn any bridges when leaving.

Hi there.

I am resigning from my current job but i don't know how to write a resignation letter, and yes i am plenty old enough to know how to, but i just have never written or really seen one before.

Can someone please write out an example of how it shoul be written.
The most accuratly (not rushed) written entry will win 10 points.
Thanks a lot for that.
By the way, this is not like a MacDonalds job or something, its actually a proper full time (career) job.

thank you.

I am applying for a job and had two interviews already. so far i have done quite well. Today i recieved in the mail, an application and a some sort of waiver to allow them to check criminal history, driving record, and credit history. The job is for an entry level data entry position. its not a great job, or job that requires a degree. So its not anything to make a career out of. What i am wondering is, do they really check all of that stuff? The job requires no driving at all so i am curious as to why they need to know about my driving record, and why they would check my credit? Is this something the employer would really check? They are a small company.

Looking for a carreer change and would like to know from someone who's already in the trade if it's a good direction to go or not. Is it tough right now to get an apprenticeship because of the economy?

I applied with a company, got two interviews and finally after the 2 month process was called and they extended to me the position..however we got to talking about salary and I said how much I was making and I expected to atleast make that if not more and they said they would have to get it approved. So after another week of waiting, they called today and said nothing but-We are sorry but we will have to rescind the offer! Just like that..They said it was nothing I done or said it was just my qualifications and salary expectations are too high for the position. So thats it no counter offer or anything!? I would have even taken a lil less to get into the company! I just felt shafted! Especially because I was upfront before the interviews began how much I expected. They even gave me a salary range when I first interviewed with them and it was in my range. What happened?? What went wrong?!

I'm particularly interested in the computer fields but i don't mind if you list others. I'm talking about jobs that pay at least $100,000 a year.
