Hello out there. I'm thinking about being a bartender. Anyone been one/is one? How did you start out? Did you pay for those bartender courses or did you just learn on the job? If you did take the course - do you think it was a ripoff? Do they really place you or is that a gimmick?

I know it is wrong, but I have a year gap in employment and I know for sure that my previous employer doesn't answer his phone for reference checks.

I have to wear a stupid uniform (not an actual one but the same color combination everyday) and I hate it. I have alot of clothes that would fit the combination but my employer is particular about the top (it has to be like a shirt , not sweater or other type of top) and most of the skirts in the color are too short as in they don't go downto my knees (what is wrong with wearing an above the knee skirt? I am stuck wearing the same clothes every workday because I reallyl can't afford to go out and buy more of what they want me to wear and besides there are no trendy tops in the style and color they want at the time. Most of the women wear men's shirts which I will not do. Does anyone else get bored wearing the same stuff everyday (especially when it really doesn't represent who you really are). ??

Concerns: My boss cancelled my health insurance the day she fired me.
I am planning on taking her to court. I had just received a $5000 pr yr raise a few weeks before....out of the blue, because I was doing so well.
I am applying for unemployment today.

I want to know if it is fake or if it is legitimate. I hear advertisements on the radio about it and how you pay a small fee to train about being a mystery shopper. I want to know more info about this.

I am bored at work w/ this task I was given 3 months ago. It is an ongoing thing and very very pointless. The goal of said task is to make see how many companies are not getting things we sent them. So far only 2 companies have not gotten something. This is out of over 350 companies.

The last time I was bored with work I joined the Marine Corps. Right now I have a sort of friendship with the #3 person. The number 1 isn't here alot. The #2 who delegated this isn't speaking up to #1 saying this is a waste of man hours.

I am not being challenged and it pisses me off. Should I mention this to #3 who has saaid this is a waste before. I want to do real work, not sit here making phone calls and begine bored to tears.

Oh there was another person helping me but he got another job. He went looking cause he was bored out of his mind too. I don't want to leave. Anyway when he left I had to take his workload onto mine. Now I am so swamped it's not even close to a giggle.

Starbucks is taking over! We need to support our local coffee brewers and entreprenuers. Would love to set up an internet cafe, in a medium sized town (pop. less than 100,000)... offer a great menu of breakfast, coffee, other beverages, and maybe lunch. Internet access, wi-fi would be at a low cost per hour for customers. Small group computer training sessions every month. Any other ideas?

I already have freelance work, semi part-time. Work full-time at an office doing the same thing. Wish to set my own hours, plan out my own meetings, create my own office system, network with other designers, market my services. Pretty good with marketing as I've done a lot in the past. Looking for other suggestions.
