I am having a VERY difficult time getting chosen for a job because of my past employer. I was hired for an Admin Asst. but was quickly moved to "receptionist". After putting up with it for 10 plus months, I decided I had to quit and move on. My old boss was PISSED and said he would do everything he could to make it hard for me to find a new job. (He is a very mean-spirited person) whom no one in the office really likes. He has done this to many women before me and I was told I was the one who "lasted the longest" under his "control".

Since leaving there, I have had to list him as my previous supervisor ( because he was ) and he is telling potential employers inappropriate and untruthful things about me.

What can I do to stop this? I need some good advice so he stops doing this, he's ruining my life and I don't even work there any more.

Thank you for any/all responses.

Ashley

I am applying for a job and had two interviews already. so far i have done quite well. Today i recieved in the mail, an application and a some sort of waiver to allow them to check criminal history, driving record, and credit history. The job is for an entry level data entry position. its not a great job, or job that requires a degree. So its not anything to make a career out of. What i am wondering is, do they really check all of that stuff? The job requires no driving at all so i am curious as to why they need to know about my driving record, and why they would check my credit? Is this something the employer would really check? They are a small company.

I'm planning to relocate to the Midwest (I presently live in NY) in about 2 weeks... I have no new job lined up... from your experience, what do you recommend to people who want to make this daring venture into something many would consider risky? I'm all ears (or eyes, in this case).. tips on moving and finding an apt. while staying at a motel for a few days, would be appreciated, as well as finding work.

I work full time and go to Indiana University Full time. I'm also married, but no children yet thank goodness. I'm finishing up my Secondary Education Physics and Chemistry degree. I guess I've always been the good girl. I wish I was more of a risk taker. I'm not sure. Maybe my life is interesting even if I don't know it. The worst part of my life is my job... my boss treats everyone like they aren't good enough. I've thought about leaving, but I feel like I shouldn't because of the money and my 4 years there. I only have a year left in college. Thanks for your help! Have a great day!

I applied to like 3 different places, but none of them seemed to have the hours I necessarily wanted, but I never even got a call from anyone anyways to even see what hours they were hiring for...I'm so depressed. I love working and helping others and am a hard worker and well qualified. I can probably get the hours I want if I just get a job at walmart as a cashier for now, but my mom doesn't want me working at walmart, she says its not a good places for me to be working. What should I do? I feel horrible about this situation.

I could imagine Him being an architect for a global software firm and get the prestigious title by Forbes magazine as the richest man on earth.

Alternatively, which industry would Satan work at? I bet it would be the legal industry.

What do you think?
