I would say the service industry is expanding the most rapidly. This could include retail, consulting, haircutting, etc. The healthcare industry is also getting more demand...especially in nursing.

the new walmart in lee county, va, they open next month and can't get enough workers because everyone is failing the drug test, half the people in the county are drug addicts
