4. use the salary wizard to figure it out. it will give you a low medium and high range for the area you picked.

In NV the starting salary is in the upper 40K range.
But if you are thinking of going into the professional, don't go into it for the money. You deal with some of the worst people alive and have to face some of the worst situations that life can give a person. Many people do not want to socialize with police officers.
If you are looking for a job with a good salary, get a good education. If that is not a choice, then look at a career in an area you enjoy. Money is not everything in life and a higher salary does not make a job more tolerable.

Depends on where you work...if you work in a city with gangs and dirtballs like them, you might make more but in a small town you might not make as much but you won't have to wear a bulletproof vest and see innocent people killed like in a mid or big city!!

probably depends on the town.i know i was surprised to hear.it is really not enough,thats why police officers work part-time everywhere else as security.y

25,000 TO 30,000 A YEAR. THEY RELY ALOT ON PART TIME PEACE OFFICER JOB OPP.. IE SECURITY OR OTHER RELATED JOBS.
