NO. there is a reason why the public jobs that are for teenagers do not pay well. Because if you found a job that payed well then you would not continue your education.. You need to look for a job that you hate and has low wages so that when you graduate from High School you will be mad enough to go to College and become someone who makes good money and has all the quirks along with what a good career can offer...

It is getting to where you need a College education to work in the fast food restaurants. I seen today on a job search that someone was wanting to hire a custodian for some kind of factory and they wanted him or her to have a four year degree. The job was pertaining to cleaning bathrooms, washing windows, waxing floors, and ect... Now that is really bad when you have to be a college graduate to clean toilets... what is up with that.

Again find something you hate to do and that will give you what you need to continue your education... It will be worth it...

Sure, theres plenty of jobs out there especially for a student teen who is lookin' for some experience and extra money durin' the summer.
For instance, Hopefully you're a non-smoker, and you can search for a local Life Guard trainin' program. Something like this is very felxiable as you have the ability to work at pools or beaches, wherever you really would like. It's good for teens who like the outdoors and savin' pple. :)
Another option are your own schools! a local middle school or high school maybe seekin' student conslors or mentore/mediators. Sometimes they have summer programs for younger children and req. older mature teens to help make the experience more positive and wholesome. :)
Clothin' stores are good for the fashion teen. Usually all you req. for a job like this is a clean cut look, a clean & straigh job application, and the passion to do so. :)
Someone mentioned walmart, supermarkets are good also, as a cashier or a deli person, you just need to want to work there, and with the right attitude you can get a GREAT job as a teen.
If you're just lookin' for experience, some of the BEST workin' experience is Volunteer work. yea I know it may sound lame to work for free, but on a young persons resume, it's very impressive to read that you spent all of last summer working in a group home, retirement home, or even if you worked in an animal shelter all for free. It shows you have intiative.
Animal shelters and zoos will occasionally be seekin' animal loving persons to help around. Feedin' or cleaning, it seems like a pretty cool idea if you're into the 'animal' scene.
In any case, good luck on you 'non-fast' food search of a job... :D

Hope I helped

That depends on your skills, mostly. A lot of the best jobs require experience, so an internship, fast-food job, or volunteer hours would aid in your chances. That doesn't help if you need the job now and cannot waste that time.

If you go to your local colleges and find their employment opportunities, you might find some good jobs (although you'll have to scan over the jobs requiring a degree and such things).

Also, government jobs tend to pay well. Personally, my skills are in typing quickly, and that landed me a job at the Post Office REC locally. Such jobs tend to train you (I even had paid training) and a nice paycheck. It may be worth eyeing the local government buildings for signs with instructions for applying.

Also, I'd avoid things like babysitting. It's a lot of money, but people these days sue over anything, and one bad client or one little mishap and suddenly you're being sued for more money than you've ever had.

Best of luck to you!

You can try going to greenhouses around your area if you like working with plants. They usually hire you if you're about 16 or so. You can also try working at a newspaper place. I'm only 16, and I'm working at my local newspaper as a clerical assistant. Or you can deliver them. Sure, you have to get up in the morning early, but it's still a good job. And another one that's fast food, but not like McDonald's or BK or whatever is Subway, or Quizzno's. They are just making sandwiches. Not hot greasy burgers and crap like that. One more, is you can do car detailing for a local car dealership. That usually pays above minimum wage and all you have to do is clean out cars. I hope that helps!

Being a server at a restaurant pays really well. It's still in the food service realm, but it is definitely NOT fast food. I worked at the Olive Garden for a while and made about $25/hr on avg.

Get into one of the trades. There is alot of work during the summer and they always need good laborers, and at the same time you learn a trade. Most will start you at around $9. In California electrical commercial trainees start at more than $12. And in the summer they dam near hire anyone that can pass a piss test!

NO, that is why those jobs are taken by teens-- they are the least educated of our society. Just work hard and save your money. Go to college, get a real skill, so you can make lots of money when you are an adult. Good luck.

I know there's a place around where I live that pays well...it's a personal assistance home and they hire teens to hand out meals to the people that live there and to spend time with them.
