Both. You can certainly have both. You just need to know how to do it. Any successful career requires education and experience. No matter what you like to do, you can make money if you get the proper education and enough experience that will in turn help you make lots of money.
A cook with the right culinary education and experince can become a famous and rich chef!
A teacher with a high level of education can become a principal or university professot at a prestigious school....
A carpenter can take some business classes and put up his own businees ......
A medical assistant can continue his/her school and become a Doctor.....
get the point!!!

Fulfillment... there is no paycheck big enough to compensate for missing out on the sparkle in a child's eyes when they look at you and they are so proud because they finally "got it." Yes, my job is stressful. Yes, I am (incredibly) underpaid. Yes, I have to deal with parents who think they can do my job *SO* much better than me. No, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

paycheck is best for me because i had kids to raise and i have to support my dance habit on the side. The paycheck allows me to find fulfillment in my life. It funds my fulfillment.

For me, it is to be fullfilled, but I do need a paycheck to get by. I am not the type of person who needs an over abundance of funds to be happy.

Enjoying your job is most important. Because if you hate your job but earn okay money you will dread each day more and more and you won't wanna go to work anymore.
