With the advent of Ken Lay's death, one wonders if we can ever get a handle on corporate greed and corruption. Is this possible? What do you think should be done about the fact that the average CEO makes 500 times the average line workers salary? Is that ethical?

I have a job where I don't get very many hours but am always scheduled on weekends which makes it difficult for me to have a dating life. I had my fridays off but now that's been taken away. I only work 4 days a week but always on sat and sun when most single guys want to meet. It is difficult to meet people during my free time everyday and it seems like every guy that I talk to lives 40 miles or more away from my city (I wonder why there aren't any single guys in this big city) and they don't want to drive into the city afterwork on a week night to meet. I can meet them on sat mornings before 12 but no one wants to meet that early. There are two of us that work every sat and sun whereas the manager of the department gives themself every weekend off which is kind of unfair. It's not like I am making that much money , it's just that my hours keep me from being able to meet guys. Am I the only one who has no weekend?

A person I work with (that holds the same title I do) is trying to show me up at work. I do my job to the best of my ability, but she is constantly trying to do better than me. In order to do this, she has to lie about the work that she does. her scores at work are getting to be better than mine, but only because she lies about what shes doing and i know this for a fact! Also, when I am out to lunch or when i go home, she goes through my desk and gets on my computer to check my emails. She also takes things from my office that she thinks i need to do my job! I have had to begin locking my desk even if i go somewhere else in our small building that I work in so she wont go thru my desk and I have also set a password to my screensaver so that she can not log onto my computer!we work in a small company and i dont want to confront her and make it hard on everyone here!my boss is aware of this situation! what else can i do?

i have been looking since April of this year and still nothing has come up. I've posted my resumes on Monster, CareerBuilder, Craigslist, YahooHotJobs, NetTemps, Employment Guide, etc. and still nothing. I even had my Career Advisior look over my resume, interviewing styles and etc. no problems at all. Please help me!

I guess what I am trying to say is things do not change as for as people not wanted you to know but so much, training your poorly, always feeling as if your stepping on someon's toe. And not to get started on the lieing and back stabbing. Do you people feel me. If we are with these same people 8 hours 5 days a week, can we just get along. What's wrong with world? Why do we have to be mean to each other to get ahead? Help!!!!

I am currently get my BFA in Photography. I love photography, but I am afraid that I wont have a good career in this. My new dream is to open a coffee business, but I don't want to start all over in college. Plus I am not sure on the best place to open one. I don't really want to open one in a huge city, since there are so many around. Any suggestions would be great.

This lady is like 50-60 years old and knows nothing about computers. I have to constantly help her on stuff I learned in elementary. After working with her for 4 months in the same little office I can't stand her. My paitence has almost ran out. Then when she has a question she is supposed to come to me, but when she doesn't like the answer she goes over my head, then I get in trouble cause "i didn't answer her question" what do I do?
