First off i am getting hired at a online university as an admission advisor and i was wondering has any body had the the pleasure of working there. Basically its telemarketing i work from 9-5 mon-tues, 11am-8pm weds-thurs, i can choose if i want to work fri or sat and sunday's i have off. the job pays $20.00 an hour PLUS full benefits and i do mean full. But the job is an hour away from me. My current job is sh!tty !!!!!!!! i work at a salon as a receptionist and it sucks i get paid a low amount for dealing with whiny b!tchy women talking about their hair all day. I stay there all day long 12 hour shifts. Nobody will relieve me!! The only good thing is that its 5 mins away from my house. The reason why i am so scared of taking this job is because i have never worked for an online university and i have never done telemarketing but the benefits of this job is so good.

I supervise someone failry older than I am and often feel resistance to take on new ways to work in our field. She isn't necessarily performing badly, but I am not able to more for my department because of it. Any suggestions on how to better communicate and negotiate in this situation without coming off as "agist?"

My company is Chinese and they sent me to China for training for 2 months. I have been employed for 8 months, however I have a very high title. I get paid pretty poorly - $30,000 per year - for NYC.

My boss told me that she wants to give me a pay increase and that I should let her know how much I am thinking. What is a good number? Please serious answers only please.

Thanks

I start training in New Brunswick, NJ, in September, as a pharmaceutical sales rep for Ortho McNeil/Johnson & Johnson. I was wondering what to expect at the 3-week training class. Please include specifics on things like dress code, hours, roommates, etc. Thanks!

As a manager at a health coverage company I have more responsibilities than a non-manager and also have a small staff to supervise. But I just learned (through a budget that was sent to me accidently) that co-workers that are not in management positions earn very close, and in one case, exactly as much as I do. While I value minding my own business, I can't help to feel I am not valued as much as I should be. It actually pisses me off a bit...ok a lot. Should I confront my supervisor about it or just let it be? I DON"T WANT TO GET FIRED. It feels unjust.

I don't want to work at a dead end job for my whole life. I want to have a career, I thought about my own buisness but haven't got a clue where to start. Or what to do, I thought about maybe a wedding planner, or something where people come to me for stuff, but again I don't know. Or maybe a running an inn or something. I don't know I need some pointers to help decide what to do.

I've peeled the bark off trees to build a hut, given a dental to a mountain lion, delivered a baby goat (kid) one week and a human baby the next, cleaned up vulture vomit, and acted as an Ob/Gyn for mice.

Recently in an interview I was asked two questions which I could not answer:
1. What are your weekness?
2. Why should we hire you?

Doesn't telling weekness have negative impact in an interivew? How should I handle these questions?
