Try finding something you are interested in. That will make the time go faster. Ask places if they have volunteer opportunities in places that you are thinking about and how you can participate.
P.S. You sent me a message about Canada Day but I couldn't reply because you haven't allowed that as your option. Canadians can do a lot of things on Canada Day. There is generally a lot of drinking, fireworks, pictures of the queen of England on the news, and laughing and spending time with friends.

Call 2-1-1 and ask the person who answers the phone for a list of agencies accepting volunteers in areas that interest you.
