Journalism maybe.
IF you have a degree this shows that you have thinking skills etc so you could apply for most jobs. The only ones you probably couldn't are the more specialist eg Biologist, Bio-Chemist.

I wish I had been true to myself 40 years ago. If I had, I would not have been an English teacher. Just because I loved to read did not mean I should have been an English teacher!
Now I wish I had been a librarian, a journalist or an author. (What would be wrong with being a ghostwriter?) Whatever you decide, make sure you are doing what you want to do, not what others think you should do!
(Sitting up nights with reams of paper to grade is no fun and rarely is it appreciated).

im an english major too
you could go into law, jouranlism, social work...all sorts! publishing, other media, public services, commerce and a very wide range of other professions.
english gives you skills in analysis, critical thinking, communication, oral presentation, professional documentation which is open for a variety of careers...good luck
