It all depends on the quality of the applications. There are no defined number but as it is with the NHS the likley hood is approx 15 i guess as they will want to get the right person.
Good luck with the interview ; )

If it worries you then please ask at the interview because they have to tell you and will tell you out of courtesy.
Most interviews with the NHS are run initially by HR departments and not the person who wants the new member of staff.
HR then run an assesment of the people that met the initial criteria when yoiu filled in the application form.
They will put you through a competency based interview which is based upon your life/working knowledge
example: tell me about a time you attended to a sick patient, then they may ask and what do you think you could have done better... (type in Competency based interview on google for a whole list of example questions in particyular a company called SHL or Saville & Holdsworth)
After this you are usually second interviewed if sucessful by the person that wants to employ you and they shortlist down to about 3 at most.
When you are asked if you have any questions ask at the end of your first interview ask:
How many other people will you be seeing for this post?
What concerns do you have about me?
They may think you liv etoo far away but you might be prepared to move, or they may think your not qualified and you may have just left it off of your cv....
Hope this helps, good luck

it depends on the quality of applications.
for a qualified post you would be stricter when shortlisting but for a non qualified post you would be prepared to look at people with no experience.
recruitment is a problem at the moment so most trusts that i know of are interviewing almost everyone who sends in an application form.
as someone who interviews i know the quality of applicants are dire so make sure you do your research on the post you are going for and know a little about the dept as well.
you really shouldn't worry how many people your up against but concentrate instead in being the person they want.
good luck.

It depends on how meny people actually apply - if it's just 4 or 5 the company will see them all, but if hundred's apply then the best ten or so will get called for interview.
My current employers had 15 people apply for a job recently, but only 4 got an interview.

It seems more and more that companies are bringing in only a small group of people for final interviews, usually around 3, or 4 at the most. It's too time consuming to bring in all of the candidates.
Good luck!

It can be anything. It all depends on the person who looked through the CVs and did the shortlist. If he or she found 5 suitable CVs, those people got shortlisted. Maybe he or she found 20, or 2, or something. However, I doubt it be more than 10.

i had been admitted in a top university, and people tell me it was pretty hard to get through the exam, but as far as i'm concerned, it wasn't. however, a very sincere prayer before exams or interviews really worked for me. review what you've been taught and you'd have to relax a bit. if it's yours, you'll make it. if not, don't be too hard on your self. maybe there's a better deal waiting round the corner...
