I have a job where I don't get very many hours but am always scheduled on weekends which makes it difficult for me to have a dating life. I had my fridays off but now that's been taken away. I only work 4 days a week but always on sat and sun when most single guys want to meet. It is difficult to meet people during my free time everyday and it seems like every guy that I talk to lives 40 miles or more away from my city (I wonder why there aren't any single guys in this big city) and they don't want to drive into the city afterwork on a week night to meet. I can meet them on sat mornings before 12 but no one wants to meet that early. There are two of us that work every sat and sun whereas the manager of the department gives themself every weekend off which is kind of unfair. It's not like I am making that much money , it's just that my hours keep me from being able to meet guys. Am I the only one who has no weekend?

I have only did retail so working weekends is always a problem. I can't change jobs that easy and don't have the money or transportation to go to any training, etc. Actually did go to business school 20 years ago and never found anything related after graduating and ending up with a huge student loan that I couldln't pay

My other half works every weekend and we barley get to see one another.
Check out some of the things in your area, churches, newspapers of things that are going on during the week so that you may meed people.
If you can't look for another job, then maybe try asking your boss for a specific weekend off or days off ahead of time, trading schedules with another person.
However the bonus to being a manager is that you get what ever days off you give yourself.
and personally if a guy isn't willing to meet you half way then they aren't worth your time. A guy who really cares or wants to do something then they won't mind going out of the way a little bit.
good luck.

Less time worrying about your social life and more time spent on working your way up the ladder might have been prudent early on. Then YOU could be the department manager taking the weekends off instead of suffering through the agony of working Saturday and Sunday.

While it may seem unfair, it is the perk of being in management and scheduling. As you are sure to have heard before, life isn't fair.
