I have a good paying job, but it isn't what I want to do with my life. It's very easy to say, "Just do something else", but trying to find that something else and financially surviving are two different things. Is anyone else going through this? Any suggestions on how to gather my goals and focus?

I am a 17 year old girl who is not enrolled in High School. I am looking for a full time job. I applied at Stop&Shop, Wal-Mart, and Shaws. I filled out applications and they are turned in. I did that on Friday, tommorw will be Monday and I have not heard anything from any employer. I realize this is not much time at all, but I was just wondering how long it will take to hear something back. Thank you for all your responses.

P.S. Please spare the "go back to school" comments. If you are not interested in answering the actual question that I asked please do not reply at all. Thank you.

I just graduated from college in a science field and would like a summer job in my field. I have already been accepted into a program out of the country which starts October 1st, and in the meatime I would like to save money for airfare and such with a job. I figured I could get a traditional student "summer job" or work in my science field, the latter preferred because it pays better. I was told by many that if I don't tell potential employers in my field the fact that i'm leaving the country in my application I have more of a chance at getting the job. Is this ethical/dishonest to leave out?

I seem to be in a power struggle at work. I am only 5 months into my job, and I came to this one with a lot of experience. I want to do a good job, but the politics are such that my supervisor saids "oh don't concern yourself with that." I am of a temperament that I kind of need (or want) to be in control, not overriding the bosses but acknowledged for what I know. Plz help me know what is best.

I don't know which major to pick. I know that I either want to be an accountant, a nurse (RN), or a legal assistant. Which should I choose?

I want to find something like selling candles or t-shirts or avon or something that I can do and not have to have a real job. Something that I can sell and actually make money and is not a joke or a gimmick that takes your money. Something where I don't have to pay the company to do it. I'm not lazy. My husband works and I volunteer at a mission so I'm looking for something where I can make extra money . I live in the us. Thanks

I am currently unemployed and I have an interview this week for a job that's a twenty minute drive away. My husband doesn't like the idea of me driving that far everyday and says I should just keep looking. I have an excellent chance of getting this position and we need the money. What should I do?

My girlfriend and I, are trying to find a performing arts school. Basically we want to study the film industry as well as the music business. I'm the performer and she's the behind the scenes girl who takes care of all the business; however, I wanna learn how both industries work as well. We're looking for a college that will allow us to just focus on our preferred study. We don't want the hassle of trying to balance between general study courses and our majors like a regular college. So if anyone knows of a really well known school for such a thing which will offer a great education, or even if you can just direct us to someone who may know something, please help us out. Location is not an issue. Well... as long as it's in the country. ;) Thanks so much for any and all support!

Yesterday,a coworker of mine went to Starbucks, for coffee. My boss asked my coworker to bring him some too. When it was time to go home,my coworker told me she spit in my bosse's coffee, stirred it up,gave it to him,and he drank it all. ( I know for a fact, that he did drink the coffee). I asked her why did she do such a thing?. She flatly told me; "Just Because". I yelled at her about it,but I'm thinking about telling my boss, but I don't want her fired either. What should I do?

I wanted to know what makes managers remember callbacks.. I usually call repeadly, but I'm not sure if saying "Hi. I was calling back to check on the status of my application." Sounds good eough. To the mamagers out there, what triggers you to remember a person? and to others, what can I say that sounds more aggressive about the job?
