Please don't answer by saying, "figure out what you enjoy doing." If I could do that, I would have direction. Also, I don't trust self accessment tools or personality surveys because their answers are vague and chage with a persons mood of the day. I'd like to hear about how you figured out your dream and what you did to achieve it.

Hello, I know you all don't know me from a fly on the wall but wanted some imput.

I recently got called to come into an interview for a finance company. I would be handling their IT support. They have no IT support department at this location and that is why they are hiring for the position.

Long story short I did the first interview 2 weeks ago. Went really really well, felt toally comfortable. Got a call back last week asking me to go in for a second interview. The second interview was with the president of the company and it seemed a lot less comfortable then the first.. I was just probably intimitated.. Regardless I felt it went well, I was able to explain my experience, and how it would apply. Now here is where it got wierd.. The lady who did the interview sent me to another women to discuss benefits, I said ok all looks fine.. Then they sent me to a third interview with an employee to ask about the company.. that went well also.. Now they said they would be getting back to me..

I am responding to an ad that stated the pay as 410-$15 an hour and they wanted 1+ to 2 years experience. I have about 6 years in the field that they are hiring for but have been in a different career for about 2 years(1 year working in different field and 1 year off work with pregnancy) The last job I had in the field that I am applying to...my highest pay was $9.50. I have the experience but am not confident enough to ask for the $15.00 and hour. Should I try and see or start off at about $12? They must have liked my resume, they called me back the same day. I am not in a hurry to find a full-time job but if I have a chance at making good money, I need the income.

I worked at the same company last year and did excellent work. They no longer have to pay a fee for an employment agency, but they gave me a $1 raise. I feel that I am worth more. I am making a lot less than my friends for the same work in a comparable company.

If the company you work for has part-time employees, do they get any benefits, such as vacation time, holidays or medical insurance? And if they do, how many hours do they need to work a week to qualify? Please state the approx. size of the company you work for too.
