Please don't answer by saying, "figure out what you enjoy doing." If I could do that, I would have direction. Also, I don't trust self accessment tools or personality surveys because their answers are vague and chage with a persons mood of the day. I'd like to hear about how you figured out your dream and what you did to achieve it.

You may not know what you want to do but it is likely you know what you DON'T want to do. That is a beginning. Next take a look at what you do with your spare time. What hobbies are you interested in. Computers? Photography? Games? Stamp or Card Collecting? Look for an association between your 'hobby' and what could possibly be your 'career'. There are many jobs/careers out there that you may not have thought about before. You know what you don't like.. you are half way there!

This is the easiest tough question to answer... What would you do if money wasn't an issue?

That's what I did. Then I looked at all the businesses that could give me that and chose Pre-paid Legal Services. It has given me the opportunity to see that my time is precious and I should be well payed for it. I would rather have 1% of the work of 100 people than to have 100% of just me. I know I'll get flamed, but I don't care what you are all going to say. Pre-Paid Legal Services has helped me more to discover my dreams than ANY other JOB I have ever had...

I worked for THE MAN since I was 15....Now I AM the MAN.

assessment tests and surveys are ALL sh*t. i eventually came to my status, not necessarily my dream, through figuring out what WASN'T right for me. I did it the hard way basically. I wandered around hopping from place to place, job to job and never really found anything "me". it came to a point where I said, "what the hell is going on?" from that point, I looked at all the mistakes and errors i've made, why they happened, why I did them etc. and it was a moment of clarity for me really. like the old saying goes, get busy living or get busy dying. my job is okay and I can;t really complain about it, yet. but things are starting to go smoothly now for a change. It's a deep introspective look at yourself. obviously if you don't know where you want to go or what you want to do, it's impossible to figure out what the hell it is you want. diligence is key. once a day, couple times a day just sit and reflect. you have a lot of choices out there for you to pursue, try figuring what it is you don;t want to do and that might make things a little easier.

when you are in this position your love and dream do not come from a pay check a career move or anyone nor your approval hay you already have it and haven't connected
for example you analyze very well so you seem to be straight to with exact needs to be met no short cuts and direct and this in your question shows you are a strong leader try Leadership you are not a follower but a leader I can tell by your wording your request and your taking no shorts from any of us!
your there all ready
I beg you first to seek knowledge and spirituality this clears the clutter thus allowing you to move on your mission!

Too many people ask these types of questions. You are living in America right, then do what you have the opportunity to do. Conquer the business would, aim to be the next Bill Gates, accumulate capital and live richly. Do it any way that you feel you can exploit to do it. Life is as simple as that. Focus your attention on economics, it does play the biggest factor in how u live your life weather or not you believe it does.

I figured out my dream was to write, and I studied over 3 dozen books on how to write......... and recently after a few years, I realized I'm an artist....... not a writer

Your dreams can be just that, dreams.......... direction however is guaranteed to lead you towards what you aim at
