....Eve And The Promise

Caffeine pot bleeping, leaves falling,
Chickens scratching, pines sighing...
OH GOD! ! NO! Not sunshine! ! ! !
You reneged! You promised Eve
No sunshine or mirrors before 10a.m!

So what if she had to swallow that bite
Of apple
To be able to speak... she agreed!
A promise is still a promise! ! !
Women...and mirrors...before 10a.m...
For US...THAT'S the sin!

How long will it take to pay this war bill, will we end up feeling like slaves before it's all over....? Indeed is that what we are all becoming just a stepping stone, for generations to come..?

I've heard from other people that the Catholic school board is banning the Golden Compass. I have a couple of questions. Why are they banning the book? Just because it has magic in it, like Harry Potter, or is there something in the story that's bad? And why are they banning it now, when the movie's coming out? Was it not important enough of an issue until now?

answering questions with more questions is futile
there is no one truth; keep looking for it and it'll bring nothing
ah yes some of us are fascinated by it, but at the end of the day, the only truth is that there is no truth - that is simple and beautiful - keep it that way

I was going to suggest a book token, but he wants to write a dedication on the inside. His brother only reads classics or booker prize shortlisters and/or winners etc., he doesn't like thrillers or detective stories, gosh this is soooo hard.
I was thinking of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, what do you think.
