It is not a scam because I took a modeling/self development class, and the director/owner of the class is having two agents come to talk to about 8 of her students, and I am being interviewed by them. I don't know the names of the agencies. So please, dont question my question, ANSWER it, thanks

You will be asked to show them your breasts. I suggest that you do so if you have any expectation of landing the assignments.

For an acting agency interview, the agency needs to see how you perform before they send you out on auditions. So, they may request a monologue or a cold read.

For modelling, they need to see how you photograph, so they will probably take a snap shot and they may ask you to walk.

Do not pay them anything and if they start recommending classes and photographers they just happen offer, run the other way. If either of the agencies are Barbizon or John Robert Powers (or John Casablancas, or anything similiar), run the other way even faster.

As far as what to say, be honest. If they're a legit agency, they should just be asking things like your availability, your willingness to travel and the things the pertain to your availability to go on auditions and/or go-see's and book jobs. If you have a headshot and resume, you should bring it and they can see from that what you're training and experience is. If you don't have any training or expereince...honestly ask yourself why you were called in. We all like to think we're talented and special, but a legit agency only gets paid when you book work and if you don't have any experience, how likely are you to book when pitted against professionals? Red flag.

Really, these things are very short unless they're with some of those places mentioned above, in which case they're basically going to give you a sales pitch to convince you how much you need their classes, photographers, etc. If you have no experience, no legit agency is going to be trying to convince you to sign with them, the actor is the one trying to convince the agency that s/he has talent to land jobs and make money and should be on their books!

Best of luck!

How can we tell if it is a scam if you don't tell us the name of the agencies? so tell us. We can better answer your question that way. If you do not tell us the name of the agencies, it is a sign you really fear they are scams. I can tell you what a legit agency asks, so if you had rather just send me an email with the names of the agencies and I will fill you in, OK? Doc
