I'm looking to audition. Google's not helpful on this, so if you know of any amateur theatre companies around Raleigh, NC, that'd be great.

All I did was search for Raleigh Theatre and several came up, I'm not sure what key words you used:

I'm sure there are more that are fairly local to you, but you may be better off looking in your local paper in the arts section. See what shows are playing and check out websites for the theatres they are playing at.

Definitely check out "Raleigh Little Theatre" and "Theatre in the Park". Both excellent! Good luck:)
I'm sure someone at either location can give you more direction. I've read that sometimes productions at Memorial Auditorium have open auditions, check them out too.
