If you like reading non-fiction, about what goes on nowadays - I recommend these two -

1) "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader"
written by Bradley K. Martin

2) "Rogue Regime"
written by Jasper Becker

These two well-written books give an insight about the North Korean Government.

Fiction?

Try all the books written by Clive Cussler (mystery/adventure/drama type). I would suggest you start the books from the first; some of the story lines tend to follow into subsequent novels.

The hero is Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino. These fiction books by Clive Cussler are well-written.

Ten years is a pretty large span in a young life! I was going to suggest a novella I just finished and think is good, even though it was written quite some time ago, by Richard Matheson, and that is "I am Legend."

I just don't know how "old" fifteen-year olds are anymore though. My kid would have read it easily at that age but was pretty mature. I guess it depends.

I read it because I think a movie is coming out based on it, and I like to read the books first. This one I'd like to see a movie of as well...

Otherwise, I'd list more of my favorites--

"The Traveler" by John Twelve Hawks (not a Native American story-- fast and sometimes violent story set a bit in the future, a them vs. us one that also has its quiet, telling moments)

"She's Come Undone" by Wally Lamb (more for a girl or young woman, the title suggests much)

"Anansi Boys" by Neil Gaiman (some fantasy that is usually light-hearted, until a bit of dark and storm show up--)

"All the Pretty Horses" by Cormac McCarthy-- very good; won some prizes; a coming-of-age story different than any I'd read before.

And I'm sure many more will log on to this question with suggestions for you! Luck--
