While viewing this piece of original art, here are some things to think about. What type of atmosphere or mood is revealed? What type of person would this lion represent? Is the style too detailed or not enough? Are the colours appropriate? How does this painting make you feel? Would you or do you know someone who would hang this painting in their home? etc. Thank you so much for all your comments! They are much appreciated! Click here to view my artwork!

I'm trying to find a print of a painting. My father had a print of this painting laminated yet my dog managed to chew it up.
I've looked in ebay for this picture and over the web but I'm not having much luck.
Its of a male clown from the waist up with a flower in his hat/hand and he is very sad it has a green blue background and looks like very rushed/large brush strokes of oil paint.
Has anyone seen this picture and know of its title or possible have a print and would be willing to part with it (obviously I would pay for it!) My father had this print for 20 years and is very sad. So I want to make up for it. Thank you.

I'm not the best painter, so I have no idea of what to paint. Maybe like a flower or something. But please give me pictures of what you think I should paint.

I really love the look of the old English horse paintings from the 1700s, the type that were done as portraits of people's horses to show their conformation. I know George Stubbs is one such artist, but does anyone know the names of others, or know of a website that sells prints of that style of painting?

Other examples of what I'm going for are the paintings of the godolphin arabain, darley arabian, byerly turk, etc, but I can't figure out the name of the artists who painted those. But that's sort of what I'm going for.

I'd prefer to find the type that just has the horse standing in a stable yard, or perhaps with a groom, but not with riders.

Anyone know where I can buy some? Or some artists names to help my search? Or what that sort of painting is referred to?

I have this painting called Paradisea Raggiana that is over 100 years old and has been in the family for a while. There are 2 things typed on it, JWolf and Smit.del.et.lith and the other is M and N. Hanhart.imp

I was just wondering about how much it would be worth. The set also comes with two smaller bird painting that uses some real feathers...
thanks!

I don't know the artists name. The background is a swirl with several patterns (including a star pattern). The man has a goatee, is skiny, has a walking stick, black top hat, and black gloves in one hand, and a white flower in the other hand like he's giving it to someone.

so i painted this canvas with oil paints and i want to hang it over my stove but the thing is i know, even if it isnt that often, food will most definately splash on it, so does anyone know of like a protective seal i could paint over it or spray to where i could just wipe off the food? or even a creative idea for some sort of cover would be good too =)
thanks so much

If you had this painting where would you hang it?

http://pics.livejournal.com/unmired/pic/0007kac5/g41

1. In your livingroom with pride for all your company to see?
2. Or on the wall behind your bar because it looks like that type of painting?
3. Or in the bedroom because the painting’s theme seems to fit perfectly there?
4. Or would you hang it in effigy in protest of mindless drivel like this?
4. Or in your Uncle Fred’s outhouse because that’s where crapola like this really belongs?
5. Or on the telephone pole down by the curb so that the trash people will pick it up on trash day?
6. Or some other place?

(As always, you can click away to enlarge it to see better details.)

By the way, this is the 300th. painting on canvas that I've done. Do you think it should get it's own birthday party? After all, every work of art we complete is like us giving birth to a separate entity with a life of it’s own.

I'm trying to make money in every way I can to get my parents over here from a foreign country.

I can paint oil landscape scenes (like Bob Ross's work) but it takes a while and the supplies are expensive so I was wondering, based on what people would pay for them-- if it would be worth it to even make the mess?

And they look really good, but I'm not a famous artist or anything-- and they wouldn't be framed either.

I've had a jar of Turpenoid (oderless turpentine) for about a year. I haven't really painted anything for a few months and I'm planning to start now. But should I discard the old turp? Also, I have a metal mesh on the bottom and all the paint is settled in the bottom but the turp looks kinda brown.
