Being in the zone.
When the line between heart, hand, brush and paint meld...
When I know the color is creating line, instead of harsh reality.
When I unconsciously bite my lower lip or lick my lips I am in deep concentration...at least I have been told I do that.

the ultimately best thing is having others appreciate your works.
The physical and mental work is an enjoyable process, but the oneness you feel with a work is almost spiritual.
It can be equated to bearing and rearing a child,it is of the self, from the self, yet an individual with it's own personality.
I find this with my paintings,my pots on the wheel and especially with my sculpture's.
Selling a work is a bitter sweet experience, like watching a child leave home, you know it's for the best, but part of you wants them to stay.
Truly i have some horrendous work's that i would love to find a new home :-) but even these have attributes of the self.
If i had to say just one thing that is the best about creating it would be "godlike" with a small g.
Hope this is helpful, happy new year.

To see if it turns out good...For me, usually it doesn't. I'm still learning how to paint with oils, though, I've doing pretty well with photography. Gets expensive, though.
