Or do you think we will always be a selfish, warlike, greedy, self-absorbed race? I don't know anymore, I used to have faith but things seem to get worse. The only Outcome I see is our inevitable extinction.

Here are some photos which I took recently for critique. Please be honest and suggest ways to improve... Also your favourite and the most horrible of the lot. Thanks.

Reading about WWII and began to wonder. People worked 12-14 hour shifts voluntarily, did without, chipped in their time/money for free, pulled together (mostly) etc. Do you think a similar war would bring out the same behaviour in today's UK?

What do you think this poem is trying to say? no monkey bussiness here people i need real answers

Lament for the Littlest Fellow
by Edith Tiempo

The littlest fellow was a marmoset.
He held the bars and blinked his old man's eyes.
You said he knew us and took my arm and set
My fingers around the bars, with coaxing mimicries
Of squeak and twitter. "Now he thinks you are
Another marmoset in a cage." A proud denial
Set you to laughing, shutting back a question far
Into my mind, something enormous and final.

The question was unasked but there is an answer.
Sometimes in your sleeping face upon the pillow,
I would catch our own little truant unaware;
He had fled from our pain and the dark room of our rage,
But I would snatch him back from yesterday and tomorrow.
You wake, and I bruise my hands on the living cage.

bad in order for society to see the good. Both poles must exist. But why then, do people seem to focus on nothing more than the bad, only to compllain how terrible life is becoming?

I would be conducting a science experiment this week. I am choosing optics. So, what I have are these:
Camera: Minolta s414
lens: Pentax 100mm

so, Minolta s414 is not an SLR camera and I wanna attach the Pentax Lens to it. The only problem is that the image I have is blurry, any idea how to overcome it?

I know at least 15 PhD-level educated professional philosophers who do NOT consider Ayn Rand (book: Atlas Shrugged, etc.) to be an actual philosopher. They tend to view her as a pop-culture phenomenon of the 1950s-60s.

Though now there are more and more female philosophers in the world, why do you think she has this low status among university professors? Was her book just clap-trap as it was mentioned in its early reviews? Thanks for your opinions.

Does the true meaning of a word depends on the vibration of the air that was caused by the specific sequence and order of the letters that formed this word when it went out of its source or does it depends on the amount and the quality of the energy that fueled that source or is it possible that the true meaning of a word depends solely on the vulnerability of its intended target ?

Have you ever wondered why life comes in opposites? Why everything you value is one of a pair of opposites? Why are all decisions between opposites? Why all desires are based on opposites?

The logic behind this claim:
-Under invasion from barbarians
-Military overextension
-Rapid decline in the value of our currency (-30% since 9/11)
-Outstanding deficits (the largest in history by far from which we could never recover) and citizen reliance on credit
-Bush may mark the beginning of a trend in "Bad Presidents" similar to the Romans' era of "Bad Emperors". Many historians compare Bush to Nero.
-A decrease in the world's willingness to give us special treatment or accept intrusive aid
-A shift from unilateral to multilateral systems in the global political scene
-"American" businesses are increasingly dependent on the international economy, outsourcing many jobs.
-Import vs. Export ratio is quite unfavorable (high imports, low exports)
-Rise in the Euro's value has people wondering about the future of the USD in the international market
-Most of the world dislikes America or fears America.
-Decline in the quality of education in America, as well as Standard of Living.

We remember Pythagoras for his theorem. But did we believe in his philosophy.

Did you know that he was also a great philosopher?

If you know, could you explain his philosophy.

Some artworks contain explicit images which could possibly be mistaken for porn, and some pornorgraphy might have used 'art' as an excuse for its creation. How then would the viewer be able to tell the difference between art and porn?
