I'm looking for advice from people living/with living experiance in Japan. I've done some research already, but would like to know any tips/things I should be aware of when I move there.

I've lived in Canada my whole life and would also like to know if there is things that would be found offensive in Japan that would not be an issue here? I want to make this experiance as smooth as possible and would love some advice.

Let's pretend you're one of those uneducated people who gets onto Yahoo answers. You don't know the first thing about shelters, breeding or anything, but you want to breed your Lhasa-poo. You're naive. (Use your imagination now...) So you post a question asking:

How much can I sell a Lhasa-poo and Pomeranian's puppies for?

Are you more likely to respond to:

A) You idiot! Why are you breeding your dog? You should be ashamed, putting more unwanted puppies out there to die in shelters. You are a heartless whale. Go get yourself educated. I hope your dog bites you.

or

B) It's great that you're interested in breeding your dog, but you might want to do a little bit of research first. There are a lot of puppies and dogs out there looking for homes already in shelters... you might look into doing foster care and help rehabilitate some dogs for other people to adopt. (Insert some more helpful knowledge here)

islam has the rammadan, they cannot eat pork... even though these "sacrifices" may be seen as absurd for people who dont have the same believes they have, at least they do a sacrifice for their religion. However, christian religion doesnt recquire any sacrifice, all of it is general and things that dont really compromise anyone because "love thy neigbour", well that is something i can even say i do,since what does it mean? that you are not gonna go to his place and steal his television set? that you are not gonna hit him? that you are gonna buy him/her roses everyday?
"accept god in your heart and love him" again what is it? how do you prove your love? praying? singing hallelujah? saying god is my light in yahoo answers every evening?
"pray"...it may take just 5 minutes of your time, while you are watching tv, you think:" god, help me pay this month´s mortgage! with love, amen"...
So why is that christians dont make any sacrifice (even if it may seem absurd)??

It's a thin flat wire strip. When it is housed inside a fabric hem (as in a collapsible frisbee), it can collapse onto itself and if the wire is 3' long (as an example) at the onset, it could end up being only inches in diameter once it collapses. I need to find where to buy this kind of wire as soon as possible.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Orange County deputy who was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Interstate 4 on Tuesday died Wednesday night.

Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary announced that Deputy Michael Callin was removed from life support and died at 7:25 p.m., WESH 2 News reported.Beary also said that in addition to his severe leg injuries, Callin suffered serious brain damage from the collision.Police arrested a man on Wednesday who they said ran down Callin on Tuesday. The suspect left the Orlando Police Department just before 5 a.m. to be transported to the Orange County Jail. He was found just after midnight and officials said he's responsible for running over Callin at I-4 and Kirkman Road near Universal Studios.
Officials said on Wednesday that Callin's leg was amputated below his knee.

Before Callin's death, Allan Barahona, 19, of Orlando, was facing charges of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. He was found at an address in the 5500 block of Cortez Drive in Pine Hills.

"He is from Honduras, but he has been living in the States for quite awhile. His driving record, from what I understand, is pretty bad, and he has multiple suspensions. I don't know how many, but from what I understand, quite a few," Orlando Police Department Lt. Brian Gilliam said.

Barahona was booked into the Orange County Jail.

The incident closed down I-4 at Universal Orlando on Tuesday afternoon and armed officers searched every car leaving the park while they looked for the driver.

"I just got off of work, and all I want to do is go home but I can't," one driver said.

"It's a little odd to see the guns drawn and everything, but I can appreciate what they're doing," another driver said.

Law enforcement officials have been keeping a vigil at Orlando Regional Medical Center, where Callin, 26, underwent two surgeries. Adam Pierce, who was shot and paralyzed while searching for a drug suspect last October, stopped by to offer his support.

"From the times that we did work together, he was a hard-working guy. He's not one of these typical gung-ho cops that everyone sees. He's a laid-back guy. He does his job. He works hard, and he's a good guy. We're all hoping that he can come out of this better than I did and make it back to work full-time," Pierce said.

Callin was a four-year veteran of the Orange County Sheriff's Office, and he came from a law enforcement family. His father is a 27-year veteran of the department and his sister is a student at the police academy. http://www.wesh.com/news/9613306/detail.html

I work in a professional office with men and women. There is a bit of socializing that takes place outside of the workplace. Recently, one of co-workers was honored with a baby shower. Every single co-worker with the exception of myself was invited. While I don't particularly like the person the shower was for (nor does she like me) and would not have attended if invited, I do feel as if an invite was in order. I think its rude to come to the office and talk about it in front of me. Thoughts? Whats the appropriate etiquette?
