Dawn Mercury - sounds literally like you're describing sunrise on the planet closest to the sun. LOL Sorry, not into that.

Carson Timothy - eh. Not my style, but nothing wrong with it.

Valera [Val] Sapphire - not sure what to make of this. Is is a made-up form of Valeria? A typo of Valora? Just confusing. Sapphire is ok, but I prefer the less "wordish" names Sapphira (sa-FIE-ra) or Saphira (sa-FEER-a).

Shawn Oliver - not loving the flow here, but I adore Oliver, and Sean -- this spelling -- is a nice, classic choice.

Of the four pairings, I like Shawn Oliver best, but I'd prefer a spelling of Sean with the same pronunciation.

I don't much like the Mercury as a human name, and Sapphire brings to mind a rather mouthy and belligerent character from the old Amos and Andy radio and tv shows.

Carson is fine, but I think it would go better with Timothy as a middle name, not a first name. Even better, keep the Carson and pick a different middle name.

Carson Timothy is a nice choice. A little bit modern, a little bit classic and you're honoring your dad, so that's pretty much perfect!

Dawn Mercury is pretty dreadful. Dawn may be your middle name, but it is stuck in the 70s. If you like mythological names like Mercury, there are oodles of them that make fabulous given names for girls. Head to the library and go to town: Ariadne, Hera, Athena and many more.

Valera Sapphire is not as bad, but it just doesn't work. If you're going to go ahead and invent names, balance them with strong, classic middle names. Valera Elizabeth or Valera Kathryn, for example. If you're going crazy with the middle name, you need to have a more sedate given name.

Shawn Oliver is okay, but just like Dawn, it seems dated. Oliver is fresh and current. Sean Oliver would be okay.

Dawn is pretty, but Mercury is stupid.

Carson is trying way too hard to be trendy, but Timothy is a nice, strong name.

Valera is a gas station. You didn't make it up, you must've just forgotten where you heard it. At any rate, it's no name for a child.

The only one I like is Shawn Oliver.

I'm sorry to say this but the only name I would even consider would be Shawn Oliver. The others all sound very out there kinda names. Try them with they surname your baby will have and see how they sound!

Apologises for downing the other three. :0)
