There are bad people in every religion, but I do agree that Mormonism is a bit "off". To base your whole religion around one man that said he "discovered a book in his field where angels told him it would be".... Um. Can we say "self-proclaimed prophet???" Ridiculous...

I have a cousin who is Mormon and her values change every day.

Dude, quit being an idiot! The article says that Jeffs belongs to a Mormon SPLINTER group. Do you know what that means?

I means group that strayed away from the main LDS faith and are practicing their faith their own way, which includes polygamy. Mitt Romney has NOTHING to do with Warren Jeffs. Nothing!

Mitt Romney is also the only Republican front-tier candidate that has had only ONE wife. How about that!! Guiliani had three, McCain, two and Thompson, two. Guiliani, being an adulterer is closer to being a polygamist than Romney could ever be.

Now go back to your playpen!

You should never EVER compare Mitt Romney to Warren Jeffs. That is just offensive. Mitt Romney is LDS and very active. Warren Jeffs is not LDS and is a despicable human being. There is absolutely no comparison between the two. Even if you are not a fan of Mitt Romney- that is very easy to see that he is not the same as Warren Jeffs.

If you really care and I don't think you do- you can see what the Mormons/LDS REALLY believe by visiting www.Mormon.org or www.LDS.org

Edit**
FBJohn- That is what my dad refers to as Subsequent Polygamy- Not multiple wives at the same time, rather one right after another.

Sadly, you really are confused. Mitt Romney and Warren Jeffs are in two completely different religions. You are comparing apples with oranges. I agree with Lex; you might as well say all Lutherans are Catholics and follow the Pope. Perhaps you haven't noticed, either, that Mitt Romney is the only republican candidate that has only been married once. Yeah, I know... that's a shocking family value, isn't it?

Warren Jeffs is a member of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mitt Romney is part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Fundamentalists was founded by a Mormon that disagreed with some of the doctrine in the LDS Church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is in no way associated with Warren Jeffs or the Fundamentalists.

You WANT to have more than one wife?? How many would you be able to afford?

Oh, wait, that's right, you don't need to be able to afford them, the government is picking up the tab!

Still, most men have problems handling ONE woman. Can you imagine coming home from a hard day's work and having to face three wives, or thirteen, or thirty? And having 10 or 30 or 50 children??

Thirty wives: "Do you KNOW what goes on around here when you're gone???"x30=?

Fifty children: "DADDY!! Help me with my homework!!!"x50=?

You're a braver man than I am, Gunga Din!!

Especially since I'm not a man!

You don't know many Mormons do you? To say Mormons are related to the FLDS is about like saying Lutherines are Catholics.

Hate to tell you this, but you're way off base. Warren Jeffs and his 'sect', the FLDS, are in no way 'Mormons'.
