Alcohol is a mood stabiliser, but it can also be a depresant. It will make you feel good for a while, but after time it will depress you more. Say, for instance you are spending more money on it and you do not have enough for the bills, or say you get a drink driving ticket or it affects your family life or changes your personality.

Most people who self medicate with alcohol become more irresponsible and the family dynamics change.

If you feel you need help, go to the doctor and say the meds are not working, he will help. That is his job.

Trust me, alcohol with increase your problems 10 fold.
In moderation, say a glass at night is not bad. Just remember to have at least 1 alcohol free day a week.

It will actually make your depression worse. Alcohol is a depressive and its the last thing a person like you would want to do. You really need to speak to your doctor about your meds and how to taper off of the muscle relaxants and find an anti-depressant that works for you. Don't put your liver in danger by adding any alcohol to what you are already doing.

NO. It is said that ONE serving of red wine (not a handle of liquor) can contribute to mental and physical well-being and is healthy HOWEVER, most people with depression will not follow this dosage. It is not an effective pain-reliever for people like that.
Especially because you are addicted to muscle relaxants, alcohol can only exacerbate your situation.

Temporarily, sure.

Otherwise, you'll just get sucked into a black hole of wasting money and feeling hungover and wanting more.

Careful with that stuff.

nope. it's a short term solution for a bigger problem. the only thing it'll do is add alcoholism to your list of things to cure.
