Well first off, you aren't looking for an actual number. The number that b is will depend on t.

if someone told you what t was, could you solve it then? would you know what b was? Try solving it for a few different numbers of t. (try t as 3, 7 and 11, as a few good ones.).

The question's actually asking you what you would do with the number t, if someone gave it to you, in order to find out what b was.

take the minus from t and switch to -4b +5 = t

next: t - 5 = -4b

then: (t-5)/4 = b

Therefore you can solve for b now.

take the 1st variable( and the the type) and multiply it via b: 4b*b=4b^2. then take 4b and multiply it via the -2: 4b*-2= -8b next, take the 2d term (-5) and multiply it via b: -5*b=-5b finally, take -5 returned and multiply via the 2d term in parenthesis: (-5)*(-2)=10 you do them each and every of the comparable way. first term on the outdoors expanded via the 1st term on the interior of parenthesis. Then first term on outdoors, expanded via 2d term on interior. 2d term on outdoors expanded via first term on interior. 2d term on outdoors, 2d term on interior. desire this helps. via the way, as quickly as I advise term, I advise type and the variable (if any) that are related to the type. Sorry if this grew to become into puzzling.
