在英文裡面有很多類似的字
如conflicted, ambivalence/ambivalenct, paradox, contradiction
字典裡都有差不多的意思
但..細微的差別呢？
有沒有哪為大大願意告訴我其中的差別？

使役動詞後的受詞表「主動」時接原形動詞
ex.Have him send the latter.(叫他寄信)
使役動詞的受詞表被動時,用過去分詞作受詞補語
ex.I had my bicycle washed yesterday.(昨天我叫人洗了腳踏車)
以上~為什麼受詞表主動要接原形動詞,受詞表被動要接過去分詞???到底為什麼???原形動詞就是現在是嘛~過去分詞就是過去式的~被動或主動,跟現在式.過去式,有什麼關係啊~0~煩死了,那個干那個什麼關係阿><哥和爸都跟我說沒原因,背下來就對了,我是背得下來...可是可能一星期就忘了,要是我知道為什麼,應該到基測都不會忘~...就是很想知道原因><哪位大大可以告訴我~

不知道大家有沒有發現捷運車廂內的一句英文 ，在車門的上方

"The light indicates the side which the door will open."

請問這句英文有問題嗎？是不是要改成

"The light indicates the side in which the door will open."

"The light indicates the side where the door will open."

比較好，不然會造成語意不清？的受詞

就原來的句子而言，which 是代替前面的先行詞side，而作是open的受詞，變成open the side，是否有點奇怪？還是本來就可以這麼說？謝謝大家的回答！

這是從網路上看到的一個句子

令我不解的是, 為何這邊會用regard ''as'' uncountable something的句型呢? 就我來看, 筆者應是要表達''假如某個語言視某事為不可數''
我覺得''If one language regards something as uncountable'' 似乎較合語法.

who和whom的用法我大致都會,但多了"插入句"要怎麼分阿??
the man __ i believed to be honest deceived me.

答案是用whom,這我知道因為whom是i believed的受詞吧!?
可是下面這句........

i like the man __you believe will win the game

答案是who,解答說因為you believe是"插入句",所以是跟後面這句will win the game用who?????????請問要怎樣判斷是插入句阿???會判斷我就不會搞混了!!

Antibiotics, the "miracle drugs," use the principle of survival of the fittest.
