Why is it so much better than say ... Big Island?

We only have a week in hawaii, and don't want to island hop. We will probably go to Big Island ... to see the volcano ... but everyone keeps saying that Maui is the best, so its making me unsure about our decision.

Any thoughts?

Someplace I can drive to in 6 hours or less then stay a few days fairly inexpensively. Maybe close to nature? Not Disneyland! Small towns or great place to camp would be cool.

I made reservations at the Sophia Hotel near downtown San Diego, CA - good prices, location, and from their website and reviews seems nice. Just spoke to a friend who works just blocks from there and they said the hotel was recently renovated, but there were prostitues and drug dealings right in front. Any one stay here before, or know of a better place to stay?

This has been bothering me, how come milk expires earlier in NYC than everywhere else?

I purchased milk a couple of days ago in Manhattan and it says SELL BY MAY 26, IN NYC MAY 23. That’s on every milk regardless of the brand.

How come milk expires earlier in NYC than in NJ for example??

Does any one know?

I'm going to be a first year medical student at SLU next year. I'm pretty unfamiliar with the area, so I'm wondering what are some good neighborhoods for a young professional student like myself to live in?

I've heard that the Central West End, Soulard, and LaFayette Square are the most popular neighborhoods among students. What are the pros and cons to each area? Which areas are the "safest", relatively speaking? Are there any boundaries in this area that really shouldn't be crossed for safety reasons (e.g. I've heard that Delmar Blvd is about as far north as you want to go in the CWE)?

Thanks for your help!

I am having trouble chosing between these to hotels for our honeymoon in early Oct.2007. We are going to be wanting to take in all of Kaua'i and renting a jeep and driving to all of the sights. We also need some hints on things to do and things not to do while there. I am very interested in hiking/kayaking to view waterfalls, so any who has visited or a local to the area please let me know if you have any info on this. We are wanting nice accomodations without the family and kids type of hotel. I have gone to many websites and compared the two, just need some extra help from some who might actually have some experience at either place, and the island in general. Thanks!!!!
