Just so everyone knows I am a huge fan of Disney, I myself have been around 13/14 times cant actualy remember, am going back in 4 weeks and am getting married there in 2009! I just wanted to know that other people loved it as much as we do and even without kids you can still have an amazing time!

Honestly, no. The service, the resorts, and the bang for your buck to me is second to none. I just can't go sit on a beach and do nothing for a week. If I am going I want to go and do. I can sit for a day or two, but not a whole vacation. To me I would not want to spend my money anywhere else. I have been there 8 times in the last 14 years (including my honemoon), and never had a bad experience. You just can't say that about anywhere else.

We always have a great time at Disney and go three or four times per year. We usually stay at the Beach Club Resort on property as it is our favorite of all of the Disney resorts. We've found that we enjoy ourselves more when we stay on property in one of the Deluxe resorts.

But that's not to say that we have not had great vacations elsewhere. Last summer we spent a week in the Florida Keys at Bahia Honda State Park in the rental cabins. It was really fun and, as you can imagine, is nothing like Disney! We've also spent weeks in the Virgin Islands - the all-inclusive resorts are very "disney-like"!

So, I think this depends on what you are after. If you enjoy all the activities and excitement, Disney is great. (or even the Disney cruise which is probably one of the MOST FUN vacation we've ever taken!!!)

But if you are in the mood for peace and relaxation, a cabin or home rental in the Keys or in the islands can be just as much fun - but different.

You can never go wrong with Disney, in my opinion. The service, the selection, the opportunities are endless.

I've done the Orlando/Disney trip thing dozens of times - as a kid, as a teenager, as a college student, and as an adult both with and without my kids. As a kid, I remember having fun. I grew up in Miami back in the 80's and it was a relatively inexpensive & quick weekend trip back then. However, now that I live in Texas, it's no longer that quick or inexpensive. Plus the prices have gone up so much. Everytime I've gone with my kids, my kids have fun, but my wife and I feel like we need another vacation after we get back. :-) It is NOT a relaxing vacation by any means.

Park tickets, food in the park, and hotels in the park are SO SO SO VERY expensive. If you try to save some money by staying outside the parks, you'll end up costing yourself more hassle and wasted time dealing with the shuttle bus schedules.

In summary, the Disney parks in Orlando are a place that all kids should go once. Get ready to spend lots of money and get ripped off on everything extra that you buy. However, if you've already been with your kids, I would look elsewhere for your vacation.

I went to Orlando and did the whole theme park thing a few years ago. I was 17 and my boyfriend was 18. There were no kids etc. I loved it, I am a big kid though. However my husband, as he is now, though he enjoyed it wouldn't go back in a hurry. As much as I enjoyed it I think I still have better, more relaxing holidays in La Palmyre in France. Now we have a child of our own France is defiantly our favourite holiday destination, and if we get the urge for Mickey and Minnie there is always Disneyland Paris!

Disney is great but lets face it sometimes you need a change. For the same budget we went to Hawaii ( oahu and kauai) and had a wonderful time, better than disney but the best for the same money was renting a large villa with pool with some friends along for the ride in the south of france. St tropez, monaco, cannes, the verdon canyons i could go on. This is without doubt our best family holiday.

Depends on what you're looking for. I've never been disappointed with a Disney holiday, if that's your question. But I've had plenty of great experiences elsewhere too: Chicago, Las Vegas, Southern California....etc.

Yes
The only holiday to top the Disney experience or the Florida experience for me was Australia, the Gold Coast, Australia zoo, Barrier reef, snorkling, BBQ's, gigantic beaches and fruit bats they were sooo cute.

I love Disney with my extended family. We have done several trips with 10 or more of us, and those are great. For just me and my husband, we love international travel. So far, Rome is my favorite.

Yep! Three weeks in a campervan going around Australia. When we went to Florida, for my sister's wedding, it was the wet season and the rain was biblical....
