Can you take the train from Downtown San Diego to Del Mar race track?

There is no stop in Del Mar any longer. You would have to disembark at Solana Beach and take a bus from there.

Yes there is a station not too far from the race track. However Del Mar doesn't start running until another month. You will love it, the best way to get there is the train.
