I have spent all of my life in New England. I am thinking of moving. I have three young children. I am looking to go south...Virginia or beyond.

I grew up in Massachusetts. I've been in East Tennessee for 8 years. I live in Knoxville, which has a pop. of about 200,000. But within 30 miles in any direction, you are in complete country and mountain settings. The people here are alot more friendly and welcoming and helpful than new england...

I'm a native of Boston, but have lived in Denver for 16 years. I love it here - the weather is SOOO much better than New England, especially the winters (not cold at all and sunny). The traffic is better, the real estate is cheaper, the people are friendly, the scenery is gorgeous, the public schools are great. Other than they don't have the right kind of potatoes here, it's my favorite place I've ever lived!

I've also lived in Virginia, outside DC, and the summers are horrible and the traffic is worse - you don't want to go there!

I lived in Las Vegas for twenty years, before that Minnesota/Canadian border for forty years (brrrrr!) I know live on the Thumb in lower Eastern Michigan and wished I would have been born here. It was voted the Sports mans paradise by Sports Afield magazine and threes no wonder with the lakes and woods. It seems threes always some hunting season open for Turkeys or deer with Bow, black power, or something. It's a wonderful area. I love it. Good luck where ever you go.
