i usually take the MRT when i go to work and i have noticed that rarely will a guy offer his seat to a woman. i really couldn't quite hide my chagrin as even if there's the pregnant, the elderly or the physically challenged among them, they would ignore these people and some would even pretend to doze off...

please don't tell me that it is because of equality. the "if men can very well stand in the MRT, women can too," mentality. of course. but a guy proffering his seat to a woman shows his character.

comments?

thanks.

I am a high school student and I might be going to Ghana next year through an exchange program. I've heard that the people are very friendly and the weather is generally quite hot. I would like to know what to expect, but I'm sure I'll love it there since I've always wanted to be in a country of spiritual, kind people.

Thanks~
K.K.

I recently been to California and Hawa'ii, and all the people I met were nice, more so than here in England. However, is this just for tourism, or do they just like tourists?

I'm retired U.S. military. I have a retirement but not too much. So maybe living in a "territory" part of the U.S. could be good or bad. Also, I wouldn't have to worry about immigration being a U.S. citizen an all. But, where is a good place to go or start looking at.

I"m hoping to find work in the Jackson Hole area but know and have been advised about the cost of living in the city. Just wondering if anyone knows of any more affordable communities to live nearby.

Im living in California in the U.S and I want to order some the Australian version of some books because not all of them are availible in the US yet (Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan)
I know that the amount on the website is in Australian dollars and the website doesn't say if the amount on my check should be in Australian dollars or US dollars.

I plan on visitng NY this winter (cold I know) and I will be looking for places to live in the area. I know some neighborhoods are safer than others. What are they called? What part of NY do they belong to?

I wouldnt mind living 30 minutes outside the state considering I hear its cheaper. I also hear everything is very compact so... it doesnt take you long to get from point A to B.

So.... I have not flown on a plane before and these are just some of the many questions that I have...

1.) Do airports have a specific area for each airway? For example if I fly with American Airlines do I have to check in my luggage at an area specified for people flying with American Airlines?

2.) Speaking of checking in luggage where do I go to do that? Do they have signs of some sort?

I have only traveled overseas twice in my life and I have been told this both times upon returning.
