No, the expiration date on your current passport is valid, and you do not need to renew it just because you turned 18. However, many countries (most, but not all) require that your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your departure date from their country before they will allow you entry. So if you travel anytime after October of this year, be aware that you may be denied entry into many countries because of the 6 month regulation. You should be good to go most places as long as you leave 6 months before the expiration date on your passport, and you should consider renewing fairly soon, not because you are 18, but because of the 6 month law in most countries.

It should be good till it expires, you have to apply for a passport when it expires as if you have never had one before. In other words the first time you have to renew your passport when you are an adult, you have to apply for one, you can't just send in your old passport.

It will be good until the expiration date....most passports are valid for I think 7-10 years but because you got yours when you were a minor it will only be valid for 5. I had the same thing happen to me. Don't worry about it until the printed expiration date

If you have to renew your passport, go ahead. But now that you're in adult status, your passport will be good for 10 years. Only if you're in the U.S. not sure about other countries.

Passport is good for 10 years unless some intervening event has taken place. You been in prison since 2003?

Better check with the government. They're issuing a new type of passport now, and you might have to get a new one regardless.
