I'm gonna be going too new england and don't want to have to go thought nyc to get there. I know there is a way from the philadelphia (pa) area where I can avoid NYC. Anybody know how to get to New Enland (the New Haven, CT area) with out going into NYC??
P.S. I know if I do not go into NYC i'd still have to go into New York state.

p.s. the reason for the drive and not flying is that we want to sight see a little with out getting stuck in the NYC metro area.

if you really want to avoid the entire NYC metro area, take I-476 to Scranton, I-84 to Newtown, CT, and Route 34 to New Haven.
If you don't mind skirting the edge of the NYC metro area, take the Delaware Expressway/I-95 to Lawrence, NJ, take US Rt 306 to Somerville, NJ, and I-287 north from there. I-287 merges with I-87 (the NY State Thruway); take it east across the Hudson River (87 will continue south; you stay on I-287 heading east toward/past White Plains).
From here, you can continue on to I-95 east (I perosnally hate this stretch of 95; it always seems to be jammed up) or you can take the Merritt Parkway (an eastern continuation of the Hutchinson River Parkway, which meets I-287 just after White Plains) to the edge of New Haven.

Travel north thru Jersey and into southern New York. Take I-84 into CT.

because of the fact they're tabloids? manhattan tabloids have taken some extraordinarily lame photographs at Philadelphia to the element the place even manhattan newshounds have taken to creating relaxing of the manhattan tabloids loss of creativity. no one everywhere could be stricken or take it heavily. this is lame trash communicate. Bashing the Phanatic? that's unique. Santa Claus jokes? this is no longer even an analogous interest. First team to ten,000 losses? Hurry up and get this lady a Pulitzer. She in basic terms broke the tale of the year!

Actually, there is a way of doing it without going through New York State, too. But it's really the long, long way around!!!

We call them airplanes. I think southwest and US air express to Providence, Hartford and Boston.
