I"m hoping to find work in the Jackson Hole area but know and have been advised about the cost of living in the city. Just wondering if anyone knows of any more affordable communities to live nearby.

Try looking in Wilson WY. It is real close to Jackson and you might find a decently priced home. There really are no services there, so Food, Gas, etc costs would be about the same.

Not really any communities outside of Jackson Wyoming other than that. Many people live over the pass in Victor Idaho or in Driggs Idaho, but the cost of living in each place is increasing as is the cost of driving. Jackson is up against Grand Teton National Park its possible there might be something affordable there.

Twenty years ago, Teton Valley (Victor, Driggs and Tetonia) is where folks lived to escape the high cost of living in Jackson. That's just not the case anymore. You will probably have to travel closer to an hour to find any affordable housing.

You might try Pinedale, Bondurant and Daniel, south of Jackson. Or Dubois, east of Grand Teton. In Teton Valley, Tetonia is probably the least expensive. My guess is, the further north you go in the valley, the less expensive housing is.
