Travel - 18 February 2007

I've never been to Dublin or even Ireland before but plan to visit at the end of June, go to a concert and do a day excursion to Giants Causeway. It seems that transport from Dublin is good and even if I don't like the city (although everyone I've spoken to about it seems to like it) there are plenty of excursions I can make. Time and cost wise I can afford a six-day stay. Does this sound a good plan for a holiday for a single person who likes cities but is not really into nightlife?

The reason I ask now is that it seems I can get a good deal on accommodation. It might be more difficult to find cheap accommodation closer to the time.

I am going to London from Mar 5-Mar 11, and I want to know, should I bring my winter's coat or just a light jacket for the weather? Plus, since it seems like its going to be very humid, would it be better just to pack something like a light jacket or hoodie?

there has been so much criticism about the middle east, that people don't realize that the middle east is one of the most culturally diverse rich, historical rich region in the world. I just wanted to know if those of you who are not as critical would like to travel there, and if yes, where? I was wondering if anyone else has been to Eurodisney-could only afford to do a day trip from London would it be worth the expense or better waiting for my next trip and allowing more than one day? Why is it that most students and professors in a certain Catholic University often criticize those La Sallians and Atheneans so much, According to one of my cousin who is studying in that University.

I would like to stay in a family part of the island as I have two small children. I would still like to be able to enjoy good resturaunts and bars but really dont want a mad "piss up type place with loads of drunks". I have heard Puerto Pollensa is nice. I went to Ciutadella in Menorca a few years ago and that was brilliant, so something like that would be good.
Plus I should add I dont want to spend a fourtune. A couple of grand (£) is the sort of amount I was thinking. This is an early August holiday I was thinking to fit in with the school holidays.

I would love to travel with native guides in various countries. My thought would be to provide travel expenses and gratuity to a university student, in exchange for a month of travel, so that I would be able to have an "inside" view and experience of a culture as well as provide travel for the student who might have not yet fully explored their own country. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
