Kamakhya, known for the famous Kamakhya Temple, is located on a hill called the Neelachala Parvat near the city of Guwahati in Assam. This temple is one of the most revered Shakti shrines in India.

The airport is on the west and the temple lies between the airport and the main Guwahati city. You should be able to get taxis that leave the airport and on your way to the city, stop at the temple, have your darshan and then enter the city. You get plenty of local transport - would recommend these diesel Ambassador cars and also the Jeeps as well as other forms of newer vehicles such as the Tata Sumo and Toyota Qualis vehicles that are available easily at the aiport. The fare for your two stop journey should be around 300 rupees depending on how long you are going to spend in the temple. If on the other hand, you first go straight to the Guwahati city, there are plenty of local transports including Buses and tempos to the Kamakhya temple.
