I don't know for sure but have heard that Dockweiler is the only beach in LA that lets you make a bonfire.

In San Diego....almost every beach allows bonfires and they even have firerings located for you to use. Beach bonfires are so fun....in San Diego it's possible to combine a beach bonfire with watching the fireworks from SeaWorld during the summer.

Dockweiler has a whole bunch of bonfire rings...AND less crowds than many Los Angeles beaches (because the planes from LAX fly overhead...) Parking is generally a problem, either; there are both lots and on-street parking. I have some photos of the fire rings at Dockweiler Beach on my website (because a number of people have asked me about this same topic.) I'll include a link, but I don't know if they'll let the link stay on this page. To get to Dockweiler: take Interstate 105 west & stay on it after it turns into a 4-lane road. It will hit the beach, & there you'll be!

Another good place for a bonfire is at Huntington Beach. There are lots of fire rings there, and the parking situation is good. During most of the year, there are plenty of unused fire rings just sitting around waiting for you...but during the summer, things get competitive. During July, particularly on weekends or on Independence Day, head to the beach early to claim your ring! To reach the beach, exit I-405 on Beach Blvd & travel several miles until you hit the ocean.

Silver Strand in San Diego has fire pits...but not too many of them.

Huntington Beach is the best for bonfires. You can BBQ - they have bonfire pits already set up. The only down side is Sat & Sun nights - a lot of BIG Families go out there to BBQ - so get there a bit early if you want a good spot!

How approximately Fantasyland? heavily, you had me going till you suggested "do not could pay for parking". it quite is the certainty on the sea coast. take care of it. while you're in the west valley, the perfect thank you to pass is in simple terms to pass down one 0 one, go out Las Virgines, and turn left. persist with Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon to the sea. there are various unpolluted seashores down there. Zuma comprises concepts. you will could pay for parking, yet once you head in direction of the tip via tower eleven or 12, it quite is uncrowded and sparkling. you will have large occasion there. i don't advise Dockweiler, provided that 747's are flying immediately over your head, and it makes your sandwich style like jet gasoline. the perfect seashores are in the OC: Bolsa Chica, Huntington, Balboa, and Corona Del Mar all have fireplace pits the place you will have a bonfire.

I saw Ozzie Osborne on his TV show. He has a house in Malibu. He wanted to have a fire on the beach in front of this house, so he went to the fire department and got a permit.

Maybe you can check with the LAFD.
