Guys, Do you think after the success of American Airlines, Continental and now Delta's direct flight to India will United Airlines start or is planning to start a direct flight to India? Do have some inside news from United as well.

I think they could. They did just recently get a nonstop route from Washington-Beijing in China. India could be lucrative as well and they will get government approval if they want it.

By the way... direct flights aren't the same as nonstop

this not likely. it is a very risky step due to percentage of ppl flying has gone up though, but profit wise for the airlines is not to good. also there are many other airlines that do so, it is also hard to get ppl to fly there. unless u have no reason to go there, the airline will just lose money opening up locations that other ppl dont want to go on, becuase other airlines are doing so.

I know both United and Delta has non-stops out of JFK to BOM (Mumbai)! Prices start around $1,600.

Continental and its partners do not fly to Mumbai.
