I've been to all 3 locations. I've been to Grand Cayman and Cozumel twice though. On Caymen I've gone to the beach, Tortuga Rum Factory and just shopped....Cayman is expensive though. It is absolutely beautiful. Although I have not been there since the big hurricaine season. Cozumel was just up and coming the last time I was there. Mostly just bars and shopping. No complaints here though. I like shopping. However if you buy liquour off the ship they confiscate it as you re-embark. They will have it sent to your room on your last night on ship though. I would definately pick Caymen and Cozumel over Nassau. Oh I forgot Caymen has Stingray City.....fun tour.

It really depends on what you want to see. The Islands on the Western Caribbean are completely different from the Islands on the Eastern. The Bahamas are not a really good destination, and I would not waste my time staying in the Bahamas for a 7 night cruise, as many Eastern/Western cruises go to one Bahamas port anyway. Having been to Nassau many times, it is not that great of a place. You see it once, then that is about it. Its also way overpriced for some things - such as the Dolphin encounters at Paradise Island. The fact is that most of the short cruises (4 days or less) end up there, and many first time cruisers take those - and consequently, it costs more for some things than in the Caribbean proper (the Bahamas are not really in the Caribbean). I like the Eastern Caribbean better, and I think St. Maarten and St. Thomas has more to offer than the Western Caribbean. But the Western Caribbean tends to be more popular with first-time cruisers. If you want to go to a beach, the best beach in the Caribbean is Trunk Bay at St. John. You will probably want to book a ship-excursion to that beach at least as a first time cruiser, as getting there on your own takes some planning to ensure you get back in time for the ship to leave. If you book a cruise with the ship - although it is more expensive - they will wait for you if you don't arrive on time (if you go on your own - and if you are late - you will miss the ship). Another notable beach in St. Thomas is Magen's Bay. At any rate, as I said, the islands are different and if you like the cruise you go on, you will at some point want to take in the other side.

I have friends who have been to Caymen, and they loved it. Some say it is way too touristy, but if that is your thing, then it shouldn't bother you too much. I have been to Cozumel twice on a cruise. The downside to that port is it's a tender port, meaning you have to get off the big boat into a smaller one, and then get brought to land. The smaller boats rock a lot and so a lot of people get sea sick while going inland. We were in Cozumel last March; there is still alot of Hurricane damage, so it's still recouperating from everything. It's still a fun place to go, and if you book an excursion inland, you can get away from all of the damage that was down on the coast. It's a pretty port, and I would go there again.

Take the cruise that goes to Grand Cayman and to Cozumel. Take the Stingray City tour on Grand Cayman and snorkel with the stingrays. They are amazing animals and you feed them from your hand.

Cozumel has wonderful beaches for swimming and snorkeling. Go to Chankannab Park for the day of enjoying the water and the beautiful park.

Nassau is just over-run with peddlers selling junk.

Been to both Cayman and Nassau. I tend to lean towards Cayman even though it is a little more expensive (but with all you can still find bargins if you look). Cayman Islands are really nice and clean with a little better waters and beaches. And yes, as some have answered, it also has Stingray Island that is quite the treat to experience.

Weve been to both the Eastern & Western Caribbean many times and hands down the Western Caribbean is far better. More to see & do!! Try Senor Frogs in Cozumel for an added lift!!

I took one cruise to the 3 places you mencioned, and i have to tell you that Nassau was beautifull, but Cozumel and Grand Caymar were better.... so, if it´s a choice, i take the Cayman/Mexico cruise.

I would pick the Cayman Islands and Cozumel over Nassau. Nassau is nice, but I don't think it even compares to the others.

I only went to cozumel and it was nice, but it was very americanized or touristy. half of the stuff that you can buy there you can buy at the states for a cheaper price. it was extremely humid and rainy while we were there too
