Why is it that most students and professors in a certain Catholic University often criticize those La Sallians and Atheneans so much, According to one of my cousin who is studying in that University.
She just told me yesterday that most of them told her that those 2 universities are so arrogant, mean, vicous, because are only interested in your family's bank account...May I know what's the whole truth behind these ??

I graduated from one of the universities you mentioned, and I'd just like to dispel the notion that most people who go to those universities are rich; I was a full scholar for my entire uni life, and right now about 20% of students at the uni I graduated from are on scholarship. (you can check their websites for statistics, or ask the administration.)
I don't have any explanation for the kind of resentment that your cousin told you about; my guess is that it's because of stereotypes that have been perpetuated by the media and by popular culture and they're pretty difficult to get over. But once you do get over the stereotypes, most Ateneans and La Sallians are probably normal. I'm sure some of them may be arrogant and mean--but there will be arrogant and mean people wherever you go.

his is a stereo-typical Filipino notion.. ADMU and DLSU are two of the top Universities in the Philippines. Yes, the matriculation fees in these schools may be to the roof but if you need good education and you need substance nowadays it is for a price. I’m not saying only rich people deserve good education, but looking outside the box the best mentors most of the time are found at good excellent universities and colleges. It’s not about the pride of teaching anymore. We all have to sustain our daily expenses. DLSU and ADMU studes are noted for arrogance etc... as you mentioned? Who’s school do not have bullies and all anyway? Its just because both schools are at the spotlight of the society thats why they are "branded" as such... I have a lot of Atenean and La Sallian friends and never have I experienced bad thing around them... Some "mentors" are still "crab-mentalized" selling: students from these universities are "aristocrats"... c'mon we are not in the colonization era anymore rich, middle and low levels of the society co-exist today... I do believe this is a low-class cheap criticism... I believe in the system of these schools because they produced good leaders (not all but majority). The only down side is money but again who's private school is not after the money?

All true. All trully intelligent, well rounded young Filipinos study in U.P. All the rest go to all the other universities. The only difference for DLSU and ADMU is, rich kids who couldn't get into UP go there.
