Besides moving to and living in China, what's the most practical, fastest, and easiest way to learn the basics of the (Mandarin) chinese language? I am not trying to master the language but rather be able to communicate day-to-day living phrases. Can anyone recommend any websites, products, schools ? Serious responses please.

My wife and I are planning a trip to Cape Cod, but don't know which town to go to. There are several towns in Cape Cod and not sure which one would be the best. Basically we are looking for an area that is close to the beach and has a nice town for shopping and dining. Does anyone have any information or know where I can find detailed information about each town. Thank you.

Europe. Who's kidding who here. I think that Russia will be calling all the shots from now on? What do you think. We in the West will be eating humble pie I fear.

I haven't seen any African country yet and I have two very young children 1 and 5. Is there a child friendly vacation spot anywhere there? Safari seems too rough for young children (and boring for a 1.5 year old) and Egypt seems so dangerous. Does anyone have experience with this?

Well first and foremost I would need nothing if I already have God and prayer in my life, but I would hope to have my bible, a bag of food to hold me over, and pictures of my family. I know this may sound silly so just humor me, tell what you would hope to have

We like the looks of this hotel, but their description simply says "tub" in bathroom. Does that mean there isn't a shower? It seems hard to communicate directly with this hotel.

Im looking for a hotel in London for Apr 23 (1 night). It needs parking either in the hotel or very close by. I dont want to pay more than about £20 for 24 hours/overnight parking and I'm willing to pay upto £150 for the room.

I'm considering a trip to Toronto, Ontario. That's in Canada. I'm a US citizen. It's my understanding that as of January 2007, a passport will be required to reenter the US from Canada, where all that was required before was an original birth certificate and photo ID. Anyhow, being that my only travel abroad to date has been with the US military, I have no idea how to get a passport. So how's it done, what do I have to furnish, who do I have to bribe, etc.?
