I live here, and if you've never been here here's where to go:
FREE attractions:
Fountains and Conservatory at Bellagio
Volcano in front of Mirage and you can walk through Seigfried and Roy's animal and dolphin garden inside Mirage
Top of the Stratosphere- great view and the rollorcoaster and Big Shot (you have to pay for these, very reasonabley priced though)
Pirate show in front of Treasure Island
Hoover Dam a little outside of Vegas towards Arizona
Just walking the Strip is cool
Circus show and games upstairs at Circus Circus Hotel

Attractions (that cost):
Gondola ride through the Venetian (low coast and they'l serenade you)
They have really cool rollercoasters at Circus Circus and New York New York
Helicopter Ride over Strip
Desert Princess paddleboat on Lake Mead, they'll take you to Hoover Dam too

Shows:
All shows are in the $90-$135 range, I would get your tickets now before you go at
"O" at Bellagio (my favorite-it's FANTASTIC)
Mystere
Ka
Love (Beatles show)
All 4 shows above are Cirque De Soleil productions which= PHENOMINAL, best shows in Vegas
Blue Man Group
Lance Burton, Master Magician- he's great
And there are random shjows at The Comedy Club which I belIEve is inside the Tropicana which are pretty funny and a lot cheaper than the strip shows
Go to www.vegas.com to get tickets to any of these, you can book reservations to anything here
Great shopping and dining is at the Venetian, Ceaser's Palace, and the Bellagio
HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Oh almost forgot the Fremont Street Experiance is free, every hour on the hour at night, there's this huge music and light show that goes on the celing overhead and they have great drinks and kiosks and bars (hogs and Heifers is GREAT) all along Fremont street it's a must see. Drink cheap and see lots.

In terms of shows I would say if you can get in then see anything by Cirque du Soleil...it is amazing..I would recommend 'O' or 'Love' as these will never be on tour Vegas is the only place to see them.

The foyer of the Bellagio has an amazing ceiling...the inside of the Paris hotel is cool, as is New York, New York. MGM apparently has a theme park but I never found it...I know that Circus, Circus does and its OK but not amazing. Watch the boat show outside Treasure Island and in the Mirage there are the white tigers...easiest way to see them is to go through the entrance near the volcano. Go in the Venetian and the Luxor! It's a must! The Stratosphere, if you like daring things, has a roller coaster on top of the tower but I have never seen it open due to bad weather conditions. But New York, New York also has a good roller coaster which is less daunting.

I never went off the strip in Las Vegas to downtown but I have heard mixed reports about it.

That's all I can remember so I hope it helps! Have fun!

A definite must-see is the Blue Man Group's show. It is absolutely phenomenal. We are going there AGAIN after just seeing it a few months ago. If you get your tickets early you can sit in the poncho section... hehehe.

The hotels and everything around the strip is awesome, the lights at night, the fountains at the Bellagio, the volcano exploding at the Mirage (which you can see when you're having supper at Denny's across the street if they put you in the window), the Sirens of TI show at Treasure Island, the Lion exhibit at the MGM Grand.. the whole experience is just exhilarating.

I recommend good shoes though. You'll be doing a lot of walking.

David Copperfield plays occasionally at MGM Grand's Hollywood Theatre. It is MIND-BOGGLING... (and he's so dreamy <3)

I hope you enjoy your trip - I know I did! And I can't wait to go back!

The Hotels. My husband and I spent 2 days of our 5 day, 4 night trip looking at hotels, and we still didn't see a few of them. The architecture is amazing, and most of the hotels has a gimick to get you in. MGM has a free Lion exhibit, Flamingo has, well, flamingo's, etc.
From that, if you look on vegas.com, it will give you a list of attractions that are free, or charge, and list some shows. For shows, I'd recommend the V Variety Show at the Aladdin.
