Why so many hotels and motels in the United States are owened and operated by foreigners. I just returned home from a 15 day trip to Florida and spent a total of 4 nights on the road. Each hotel I stayed at, Days Inn, Quality Inn, Ramada Inn and a Best Western were all owned by people from India. I don't have a problem with this until it comes to the rooms being down right NASTY!!! Apparently their standard of "house keeping" does not compare to mine. I don't mind paying for the room as long as the room is clean. Three out of the four rooms were nasty and down right filthy. No refunds are offered nor given if asked. There is such a language barrier that they tend to not understand when they are being told how nasty a room is. It makes me mad! Just how do and why do so many of our american hotels have so many foreign owners and why do they not have to live up to our standards of cleanliness??? They usually have family working for the hotel doing housekeeping and such too!

Using American bank check card(visa logo on it) to withdraw some Euros in Italy?

Is it good idea to use bank checkcard(Debit Card)to withdraw some cash in Italy and also use as just like a credit card to purchase goods at store? My account is in Bank of America. I use this card just like ATM card and sometimes like a credit card to purchase goods here in America.

Can I bring some cheese into Canada?

Why does it seem like any humanitarian jobs that allow you to travel...?

Anyone know of a good quality hotel in miami area on the beach that sleeps a family of 5 very comfortably?

kids are grown so we would prefer seperate beds for the 3 kids and one for mom and dad. also prefer to be in the sunny isles , hollywood, hallandale etc.. near diplomat would be ideal.
