Yes, there should be snow in Nagano. If it is crowded, go over to Kusatsu to a another great ski resort in Gunma. Also, I highly recommend visiting Karuizawa, a lovely little town of about 20,000 with great food and a shinkansen stop! Have fun, you will love it. And if you go to Karuizawa, stop by St Paul's Church and say hello to Father Carlos.

Yes, but it will be near the end of the ski season so be ready for icy ski conditions. The most popular Nagano resort is Hakuba but I recommend sugaikekogen. The best snow in Japan is in Hokkaido. If you can make it there check out Niseko. The snow will blow your mind. Have a good time.

There should be heaps of snow. I reccomend visiting the castle in Matsumoto. Go up on the chuo line and return on the Nagano Shinkansen, or vice-versa.
