Which is the cooler place? Venice Beach in LA, USA, or Camden Town in London, UK?
I've been to both and I think they are similar in many ways, but with a compleletely different feel. Which do you like better? I like Camden.

I've read alot of Q&A concerning this but have never been satisfied with the results. Please tell me who I can contact and where I can go. I've been to the airport in PE but I only get the run around and can never secure an interview with anyone. I asked a question previously about traveling on my own- and i gather that this "backpacking" seems really appealing to me. I need some sound advice as to how I should go about doing this. I really would prefer doing it on my own rather than follow a group tour- I hate the idea of being part of a 'flock', though of course this is obviously safer? What do I need?
