It's the prototypical American holiday. Sun, surf, and amazing smells. Plus, they speak English in Hawaii. We Americans are too lazy to deal with the currency/language/visa barriers in places like Cancun and Cabo. Even though those places are cheaper and often much less crowded.

Without trying to be mean about it, beats me.
For all the gripe we catch for being "mainlanders" from the locals, you'd think they'd be happy we bring so many tourist dollars there.
Much like a previous answer, probably b/c it's a bit safer than most foreign places and with less language/money barriers.
Personally, I'd rather go to Jamaica.

Hawaii is 'paradise' in many people's minds. Might have to do with the weather and beautiful vistas.

Well that's a really easy one....because even on a bad day I live in paradise..I get off work, change my clothes and head off to surf. The living is low key and the stress level.. is lowwwwwwwwwwww. The life expectancy is the longest of any state and there is always something to do....Aloha

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but Hawaii is like crack.
I've been there countless times but I still want to go back.

Hawaii is awesome. I love it there! Beautiful vistas. Warm ocean waters. Terrific climate. Gorgeous rain forests. So much to do. So much to see. Great people. Can't say enough.

It's beautiful, the food's delicious and the people are friendly. It is also safer than many other tourist destinations and you don't have to have any shots to go. I went two years ago and I really want to go back for another visit.
