What is this guy saying...

Hayal et, Cennet yokmuş mesela
Bir denesen, çok kolay
Ne aşağıda cehennem
Yukarıda yalnızca sema
Hayal et, bütün insanlar
Bugün için yaşıyormuş yalnızca

Hayal et, ülke sınırları yokmuş mesela
Bir dene, çok zor değil
Ne uğruna ölecek, ne de öldürecek
Bir de din olmasa
Hayal et, bütün insanlar
Barış içinde geçiriyormuş ömürlerini

Hayalperest diyeceksin bana
Ama ben tek değilim
Umarım sen de katılırsın bir gün
Dünyayı bir kılmaya

Hayal et, mal mülk yokmuş mesela
Bunu düşleyebilir misin acaba
Ne açgözlülüğe gerek var, ne açlığa
Bütün insanlar kardeşmiş
Hayal et, bütün insanlar
Dünyayı paylaşıyormuş

Hayalperest diyeceksin bana
Ama ben tek değilim
Umarım sen de katılırsın bir gün
Dünyayı bir kılmaya

In Turkey, one can see flags are everywhere. On balconies, in shop windows, on taxis, some of them in huge sizes seen from everywhere. Even some churches in Istanbul now have Turkish flags in their gardens. Why does a church put a flag in its garden? Do Turks have a deeper fear? Against whom are all these flags hoisted? Has every day turned into a national day? If these flags belong to every Turkish person who is bound to this country with Turkish citizenship, who is trying to say what and to whom?

I read the information, but I'm not sure about that.

Apparently Turkish airfighters also succeeded in annihilating the transmission base of PKK, that was broadcasting the RojTV propaganda programs?

Is it true?

I hope so...

It seems that many countries don't take it seriously, and that's why french authorities apparently don't do anything about PKK supporters who live in Paris and France.

By the way, check this question of mine, and the answers, and please can you also send a mail to the Turkish Consulate in Paris?

What do you think?

My position is that ezan can be a nice thing from a good müezzin, but loud speakers ruin the experience. I also like the bells I hear from the neighborhood church and wouldn't want it to stop. But East Oxford isn't Istanbul and I want your opinions.

I am wondering whether any citizens having Armenian ethnic origin but otherwise being Turkish nationals themselves associate with the Armenian immigrants in Turkey (e.g. those entering Turkey only the last 10 years).

I read in the site France24 an article about Turkish Army's new offensive against the PKK terrorists in Northern Iraq.
Readers can react and post their opinions, as it's common now in every newpapers online.
And I saw a message of someone who dared writing " I support PKK".
As the page and the message are in french language, I suspect this person to live currently in France ( or at least in Europe )
I reported the abuse to the site France24, but the message still remains.
So should I call the police, or simply inform the Turkish Consulate in Paris?
If police identifies his IP, then he will be arrested and prosecuted for sure ( as PKK is considered as a terrorist organization in UE ).
I couldn't even post a message on this website, and that gets me even more upset ( when I try to submit my post, a message says " an error has occured" ).

And please could you also report this person?

This is something that I would be very interested to know. The Arabs are known for their great contribution to the world civilisation, the Greeks, the Romans, the French people etc. Every nation has contributed something to what our world is or looks like today. What do you think about Turks (concerning this specific matter?)

Following the answers to my previous question I am even more puzzled. Why did the Turks abandoned their original Monglian Orhun scripts for Arabic alphabets and then changed to Roman letters? I hope this is not about forgetting old friends and attaching yourself to wealthier friends of the moment. It sure seems like that when you want so much to join the EU now.

I am just flirting with the idea here...:).

Kemalism is somewhat far from being a religion as it is staged now. But it bears some early signs to become a "political" religion unlike no other seen so far: It has a heroic, yet not alive (thus eternal), leader. A cultural purpose. A unifying idea. It has morality. An ethical code. It passionates, therefore capable of transforming itself into a radical and extremist ideology. And it has even dress codes such as banning the scarf...But more importantly: does it have any "followers"?
